About her : Maryam is a Hand Embroidery Worker from Moti Mohalla Kalan Dal Srinagar. Maryam was part of a skill upgradation course. She has been trained in Ary Work. Maryam’s father is a farmer, but barely made any money out of it. After receiving training, she has learnt new ways of doing this craft and has better knowledge of designs and an enhanced understanding of market demands. She now works with a group of women and believes that work gets done faster in a group. The end product also turns out to be better than the one produced individually. After receiving training by National Institute for Technical Trainings (NITT), she earns at least Rs.4000/- per month from this craft.
